The Hush Muff is a soft, comfortable cover for your dog's ears. It is designed to gently block out loud and frightening sounds. It can help reduce noise from fireworks, storms, travel and other loud environments that might make dogs feel anxious, stress or reactive.

The Hush Muff creates a soothing sensation around their head, promoting relaxation. Similar to how noise-reducing earwear can support individuals with sensory sensitivities, the Hush Muff offers comfort and reassurance for dogs who are sensitive to sound.

How Effective Is the Hush Muff at Reducing Noise? How Much Does the Hush Muff Reduce Noise By?

The Hush Muff provides a measurable reduction in noise levels for dogs, based on independent audio testing:

  • It attenuates 6–12 dB in lower to mid-range frequencies (<300 Hz to 3 kHz), which include typical rumble and traffic-related sounds.
  • For higher frequencies (>4 kHz)—like fireworks, alarms, or high-pitched thunder—it reduces noise by up to 12–18 dB.

Since decibels are measured on a logarithmic scale, a reduction of ~6 dB cuts perceived loudness in half, and ~12 dB cuts it to a quarter of the original volume.

Can My Dog Wear the Hush Muff During Walks or Only Indoors?

The Hush Muff can be worn indoors and outdoors.

If wearing outdoors, such as for a walk, the fleece is water resistant, so it works even in wet conditions.

How Do I Wash the Hush Muff?

Wash up to 40° in the washing machine.  Do not tumble dry.

Can't recommend this company highly enough. Fantastic customer service, even sending item out on a Sunday. Hush Muff is good quality and really welll made. Have had to return to exchange for a smaller size due to having to guess the size of my whippet's head while I was on holiday with no tape measure with me. Looking forward to getting the new one as will be perfect for my noise sensitive boy. 😀

Hush Muff

I was really optimistic as for the first half an hour it worked wonders. Then my dog worked out how to get it off or wear it like a large collar. I guess that isn’t the products fault but I’m sure it’s not just my dog who has done this.

Definitely a useful addition

Saw some reviews on this product and gave it a go for the dreaded fireworks season. My dog takes strong medication for a short period during this time but the hush muff definitely added an extra level and she was still worried but not in a complete meltdown. Would recommend. You do need to spend some time reward training beforehand to make putting it on easier. Thank you.

Fantastic product

I bought the Hush Muff on recommendation from a vet, my dog is severely phobic of fireworks. Along with medication the Hush muff allowed my dog to remain calm throughout the firework period and I genuinely think she enjoys wearing it.
I also received excellent customer service following a delivery issue (caused by Royal Mail).
