The Hush Muff is a soft, comfortable cover for your dog's ears. It is designed to gently block out loud and frightening sounds. It can help reduce noise from fireworks, storms, travel and other loud environments that might make dogs feel anxious, stress or reactive.

The Hush Muff creates a soothing sensation around their head, promoting relaxation. Similar to how noise-reducing earwear can support individuals with sensory sensitivities, the Hush Muff offers comfort and reassurance for dogs who are sensitive to sound.

How Effective Is the Hush Muff at Reducing Noise? How Much Does the Hush Muff Reduce Noise By?

The Hush Muff provides a measurable reduction in noise levels for dogs, based on independent audio testing:

It attenuates 6–12 dB in lower to mid-range frequencies (<300 Hz to 3 kHz), which include typical rumble and traffic-related sounds.
For higher frequencies (>4 kHz)—like fireworks, alarms, or high-pitched thunder—it reduces noise by up to 12–18 dB.

Since decibels are measured on a logarithmic scale, a reduction of ~6 dB cuts perceived loudness in half, and ~12 dB cuts it to a quarter of the original volume.

Can My Dog Wear the Hush Muff During Walks or Only Indoors?

The Hush Muff can be worn indoors and outdoors.

If wearing outdoors, such as for a walk, the fleece is water resistant, so it works even in wet conditions.

How Do I Wash the Hush Muff?

Wash up to 40° in the washing machine. Do not tumble dry.

Large hush muff for greyhound

This is Ruby's first hushmuff and even though we haven't had to use it yet I am very pleased with it. Really well made and easy to use. Will come in very useful during firework season.

Ruby looks great in her Hush Muff and we are so happy your pleased with your purchase, luckily greyhounds tend to take to it very quickly and dont tend to need much training but if she does then please dont hesitate to contact us so we can direct you to some videos that will help with that.

I'm happy with this product

I'm happy with this product. I bought it bc my dog is verry scared of fireworks, wind sounds and thunder. New Year night its always 1 big warzone in the netherlands and it seems it worked a little bit to keep him calm. It seems that he doesn't have a problem to have something over his head and ears specially bc its verre soft. So what I already said I'm happy and I think my dog is also happy that it can block some of the sounds. But yeah its a podenco and with those big ears its hard to block everything.

Got these for my 4 little pomarainins they were great kept them calm the whole night would really advise everyone to get them

A must have for all dog owners!!

Having found a recommendation for Hush Muff from a forum about nervous dogs, it’s been an absolute life saver for us at bonfire night. If we could give it 6 stars we would! We love them so much we’ve bought a second one to make sure we’ve always got one to hand. Our dog falls asleep happily wearing her hush muffin which drowns out all the noise. Sadly stressed my dog

My Greyhound is very sensitive to the sounds of bangs, motorbikes, fireworks, shooting and suffers intense stress. I have used every method in the past including ear defenders but each stopped working and started to cause her stress as soon as used. Sadly the same happened with this. She refused to move and just shook with fear with it on.

Hi Jill sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the product. Did you do some training before hand ? When you receive a Hush Muff there is a QR code on the tag. It takes you to a video that shows you how to get your dog used to it. The reason your dog is probably more stressed is because she hasn't been introduced to it properly. This has to be done with positive reinforcement and patience. If you need any more help getting your dog comfortable in the Hush Muff then please don't hesitate to get in contact , as it's important to us that dogs get the best use and are comfortable in the Hush Muff.
